How do you work?

Our standard process involves translation followed by an editing step. Depending on your needs, other steps may be necessary. We can create master glossaries of your preferred terminology, based on legacy content, as well as offering DTP, linguistic testing and in-country review management services.

Do you offer machine translation? How does it work?

Yes. We offer machine translation (MT) from most source languages into the following target languages: Bulgarian, Chinese, Czech, Danish, Dutch, English, Estonian, Finnish, French, German, Greek, Hungarian, Italian, Japanese, Latvian, Lithuanian, Polish, Portuguese, Romanian, Slovak, Slovenian, Spanish and Swedish. Text is machine-translated automatically using a third-party cloud service, then post-edited by a skilled human linguist. Post-editing is the process of checking and correcting machine-translated text. It's important to note that some types of content are better suited to MT than others. Straightforward technical texts might be right for machine translation, while creative marketing copy using puns and metaphors calls for more of the human touch.

We perform daily data backups which are stored in the cloud and at an offsite location. We also use multi-factor authentication and antivirus software to protect data. Our staff receive training on digital risks such as phishing e-mails.

How do you ensure quality?

We only work with linguists who offer tried and tested quality in our two-step translation and editing process. Our talented translators draw on resources such as terminology, style guides and translation memory to help them find the right words. At the end of a project, we use technology to root out any remaining spelling and formatting errors and terminology issues that are difficult to spot manually.

We find our translators through our memberships of industry associations, on job portals and through word of mouth from our network of industry contacts, including universities. Our Vendor Manager works closely with our pool of experienced linguists, taking them through our onboarding process and monitoring their ongoing performance.
